About

Nikos Pekiaridis was born in Athens, Greece, in November 1984. He studied Computer Networks Technology. He started getting involved in photography during the period of economic crisis in Greece in 2012 spontaneously, as a reaction to the social and political changes that took place in Greece at that time.

He took professional specialization courses and participated in workshops in various photography schools in Athens about, Photojournalism, News Photography and Documentary storytelling. As well as Documentary Filmmaking in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He is working as a freelance documentary photographer & videographer, covering stories about social, political, environmental and health related issues.

Since 2019 he has been a contributor as a photographer and videographer for the international press photo agency NUR photo and SOPA images, based in Asia.
